A breed such as the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog requires a great breeding program. Swissies have a number of serious health concerns that plague the breed. At the time that we decided we wanted to raise Swissies we made the decision right then, that we were going to have a great breeding program. We knew it wouldn't happen overnight but we also knew that laying the foundation, for anything, is the most important. We will never have a large number of breedings every year, or puppies always available. We will never own and care for more Swissies then what can live with us in our home. We believe this is the best way to get to know their true character, health and temperament. We will continuously seek out knowledge and only breed those Swissies who have proven that they will add and not detract from the breed as a whole. All Swissies that are bred will have passed hips, elbow, eye and heart certification as a minimum standard. It is our hope that by not compromising on this commitment that years down the road, Wildest Dream Swissies will have the reputation as having a great breeding program. One day a Wildest Dream Swissie might become National Champion (Like our boy Justus did in 2008) but, more importantly Wildest Dream Swissies will become best friends to boys and girls from 1 to 99. Now there is a legacy.
