Ch. Polyanna's Sweet Gypsy Dream

(DOB 10-25-04)

Greater Swiss Mountain Dog female
Gypsy
Gypsy lives up to her name beautifully.  She should probably be Gypsy Queen.  Whether she is sitting down or laying (in the house) she always looks so regal with her head up and her eyes attentive.  Some might think Princess or Priss might be a better name for her but, as soon as you let her outside she is the first one to play in the dirt, mud, leafs, pond, you name it, she's all dog and far from being dainty.

Gypsy like Justus has a great deal of bone and she is a good size female standing apx. 26" at the shoulder and weighing around 115 lbs.  Gypsy has a beautiful heart which she wears on her chest.  Gypsy's coat is medium length, straight, and course.  Her under coat is a lighter grey.  She is very solid front to back.  We would love to show Gypsy as a special but she never got to the point where she loved the show ring.  She loves everything about the shows, walking around, looking at everything, being petted by everyone, snacks and smells but she is not a big fan of the ring.  Maybe when she gets older that will change.  Gypsy also has a smile which we call the "snarller" if you get her excited to come to you or play (or say "come here licker wiggler") she wiggles so much that she barely can walk, ends up walking towards you sideways, and curls up one side of her face (the "snarller") and can hardly contain herself.  As they say it's "priceless".

Gypsy loves to work and loves to please.  You will often time hear us say "Gypsy needs a job".  We have just started working with Gypsy with obedience and doing some tricks, she learns very quickly.  So, you may not see her in the confirmation ring for a while but maybe in Rally or obedience who knows.  Gypsy is also very attentive to her surroundings and is generally the first of the dogs to hear, smell or see something new and the last to move on.  The kids have given Gypsy many human occupations (as they have done for all the dogs) over the last couple of years but she is most definitely a blue collar worker who works hard and plays hard.
